In 2020, our founders launched Flavor of China, driven by a simple yet ambitious mission: to bring true, uncompromised regional Chinese cuisine to the home kitchen. We spent years mastering the extraction of complex aromatics and distilling centuries of culinary heritage into all-in-one sauces. This work established our unshakeable foundation in flavor science and authentic quality.
The Realization: The Stagnant Pantry
As we perfected our sauces, we looked at the North American pantry and saw stagnation. The everyday staples—the mayonnaises, the dressings, the ketchups—were functional but lacked the vibrancy, complexity, and sheer addictive quality that our culinary science could deliver.
We realized our breakthrough wasn't just about authentic Chinese food; it was about creating superior taste. Our rich, umami-driven flavors weren't "ethnic"—they were universal flavor enhancers that deserved to be in every refrigerator.
